RCB Bank Ltd joins "Making Cyprus Green" campaign

RCB Bank Ltd has joined "Making Cyprus Green" Campaign. During a press conference (16/3/2017), the Executive Director of RCB Bank, Mr. Sotos Zackheos, presented a €10,000 cheque to support the massive effort which started in September following the devastating forest fires in Argaka in Paphos and the Solea in the Troodos Mountain regions.

In his address, Mr. Zackheos pointed out that the initiative is compatible with the overall recycling philosophy and policy of RCB Bank Ltd. He further pointed out that "in the last years RCB and its employees are committed to paper, plastic and glass recycling at the workplace and at home".

The campaign aims to utilise public and organisations’ support for the environmental management and rejuvenation of the affected areas and is managed jointly by the offices of the Environmental Commissioner, Volunteer Commissioner, Forestry Department, Union of Communities and the Friends of the Forest; the latter has undertaken the responsibility of implementing the campaigns aims which among other things include restoring degraded areas (including after a fire) and planting of new trees mainly, in rural areas where required.

The aims of the initiative is to provide donors, sponsors and volunteers a choice of a project to sponsor.
