RCB Digital Key - a new convenient way to confirm transactions in RCB Online Banking and RCB Mobile Banking

17 September, 2019

Dear clients,

The European Payment Service Directive (PSD2) sets more stringent requirements aimed at enhancing the security of transactions confirmed through the internet and mobile applications. One of the elements of the new requirements is the use of the payment details to generate a code that confirms the transaction. To meet these requirements, RCB Bank offers you a special mobile application - RCB Digital Key to confirm your payments in RCB Online Banking and RCB Mobile Banking.

RCB Digital Key is one of the elements of a two-factor client authentication powered by Entrust® IdentityGuard Mobile Soft Token application.

With RCB Digital Key, your hardware token is no longer needed. You will use it for the last time to register RCB Digital Key, and then you will only need a mobile phone or a tablet to confirm your login and transactions. In addition, the use of RCB Digital Key completely eliminates the input of secret codes or any numbers to generate them. Instead, our application will send the data to your phone with RCB Digital Key installed, all you need is to confirm the action by clicking on the button in the application. Simple, fast and convenient.

Set up RCB Digital Key and switch to a new way of banking through RCB Online Banking and RCB Mobile Banking as follows:

  1. Go to RCB Online Banking and login using your credentials including OTP.
  2. Accept new client authentication method by clicking CONTINUE (or click SKIP button and continue using the existing hardware token and set up RCB Digital Key later).
  3. Follow instructions to download the Entrust mobile application from Google Play or App Store and set up the RCB Digital Key. During the registration process, you will be able to decide how to launch RCB Digital Key - via PIN or, for example, by fingerprint, and the system will link your mobile phone to your account. This step requires approximately three minutes and the accuracy in following the instructions. To get ready, you can familiarize yourself with the RCB Digital Key User Guide, which is available here.
  4. Keep your OTP hardware token as a reminder of outdated technologies - you will no longer need it.

Introduction of the new takes time both for creating and implementing. Therefore, striving to offer the smooth and convenient transition to the new two-factor authentication system, RCB Bank provides the opportunity to do this at any time until November 4, 2019. During this period, you can still use the hardware token and register RCB Digital Key at your convenience. We recommend you not to delay the transition and benefit from the new authentication method as early as possible.

In case you have any difficulties with the transition to a new system or any questions, our specialists will be happy to help, so please do contact your Relationship manager or call RCB Telephone Banking.

We hope that RCB Digital Key will become a convenient tool for your interaction with the Bank and we would be grateful if you share your experience in using the new way of authenticating and confirming payments with us.

Yours faithfully,
RCB Bank Ltd
